Scott Butterfield, EVP

Client Lead

Scott has over 35 years of experience in Consumer Products Sales and Marketing, Market Research, and Analytics. He brings a deep understanding of the CPG industry, excellent client management skills, and extensive experience in providing world class shopper and retailer insights to clients throughout the world.

Scott joined MPG from Kantar Consulting in Boston where he spent 10 years in various Senior Management positions, most recently as Senior Vice President / Team Lead for Kantar Consulting’s Retail, Sales, and Shopper Practice. For 5+ years prior to that, Scott was Chief Customer Officer for Sales, managing the National Sales/Client Service team and focusing on retailer insights and consulting to over 200 companies nationwide.  

For seven years as SVP, Scott led the business development and consulting business in the East for Information Resources Inc. (IRI). Prior to this, Scott worked for 17 years in the CPG industry (Campbell’s, Johnson & Johnson, and PepsiCo) in increasingly senior roles in sales, sales strategy, and product management.

Scott is a former board member of the Sam Walton School for Retailing Excellence. He has also been an Adjunct MBA Professor of Marketing at the Carroll School of Business‒Boston College and also the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. He holds a BA Degree in Economics from Colby College and an MBA Degree from the University of Hartford.
